1. No purchase is necessary to participate or win.
2. We will only accept one entry per person and one entry per e-mail address. We will only accept two entries per residential address.
3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD. The Promotion begins at 12:01 AM ET on Jan. 14, 2009 and ends at the conclusion of the NFL Championship game scheduled to be played on February 1, 2009.
4. HOW TO ENTER. Visit any one of our Sites and click on the "Super Picks XLIII" promotion link. Complete the online registration form using your legal name if you have not already registered. All fields must be entered accurately for your entry to be valid. You must update this information as necessary to remain eligible to win.
5. HOW TO PLAY AND WIN. Super Picks XLIII is played during the NFL championship game only.
To play you must make your picks using the Enter/Change Picks page. Make your predictions for 15 questions about this year's pro football title game. For each correct pick you make, you are awarded the points specified for the outcome you picked. The sum of all your points earned from your correct predictions will determine your final point total and rank. You will also be asked to make two additional predictions which will serve as the tie-breaker(s) in the event of a tie.
Confirm your selections using the submit button at the bottom of the Enter/Change Picks page. Follow all additional instructions listed on that page, observing all posted deadlines.
The deadline for entering and/or changing submissions is posted on the Enter/Change Picks page. No submissions will be accepted after the deadline for any reason. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of the Promotion will be our servers.
Notes:
- You may change your picks any time before the deadline.
- Ties will be broken first with the Tie-Breaker totals. The closer your predicted total is to the actual total the better.
- If the Tie-Breaker totals do not break the tie, the Contestant with the most consecutive correct picks in order starting with the first question will be declared the winner.
- Finally, if there are still ties, then the Contestant whose picks were submitted earlier will be ranked better. If you submit your picks and then change them, we will use the time we received your last set of picks for the purposes of the final tie-breaker.
- Your last entry that we receive before the deadline will be the only entry we shall consider as valid.
If you earn the highest number of points you will win the Grand Prize of a Bose Home Entertainment System (as described below). If more than one Contestant is tied for the Grand Prize, the Tie-breaking procedures will be used since only one Grand Prize is available to be won.
If you correctly answer each and every one of the fifteen (15) questions and you have complied with these Official Rules and Terms and Conditions then you win the US $1,000,000 Cash Prize subject to the conditions below.
Point Scoring System
Points are awarded for each correct outcome you select. The number of points awarded is specified for each outcome. Official league sources will be used to determine the correct game outcomes.
The following points of interpretation specifically apply to the determination of the "correct" outcome for the questions indicated. Any other matters of interpretation are solely at the discretion of the Contest Providers as per the GENERAL CONDITIONS section below. Official league sources will be used to determine the correct game outcomes.
- Question 1. In the event the first play from scrimmage is anything other than an AFC run, AFC pass, NFC run or NFC pass (such as a fumbled snap), the play will be declared as an "invalid play" and the next valid play from scrimmage will be used instead.
- Question 3. The player officially credited with scoring the points is the player deemed to have scored.
- On a scoring pass from a Quarterback (QB) to a Wide Receiver (WR), the WR gets credit for scoring the TD.
- On a kick, punt, fumble or interception return for a touchdown, it is automatically considered to be a "Defensive/Special Team/Other" TD even if the player that scores ordinarily plays at another position such as in the case of a WR that returns kicks.
- A TD reception by a tackle on a tackle eligible play is considered to be a "Defensive/Special Team/Other" TD.
- A safety is considered to be a "Defensive/Special Team/Other" scoring play.
- A field goal kicked by any player is considered to be scored by the Kicker such as in the case of the regular kicker being injured and another player that ordinarily plays at another position being used as a Kicker.
- Only a field goal is considered to be scored by the Kicker. In the event that the Kicker were to score on a fumble return on a kicking play, it would be considered as a "Defensive/Special Team/Other" TD.
- Question 4. This applies only to the 4 Quarters, not to Overtime should it be required. For example, if the score was 6-6 at the end of regulation time with 3 points being scored in each quarter and a TD was subsequently scored in Overtime, the correct answer would still be "Tie among two or more quarters" even though the most points were actually scored in Overtime.
- Question 5. Any points scored at exactly the 2:00 minute mark are considered to be scored in the last two minutes of the applicable half or halves.
- Question 11. This refers to any TD scored whether it be rushing, receiving, fumble return, interception return, kick or punt return.
- Question 13. The game winning points are the ones scored by the winning team that are one or more points higher than the total number of points scored by the losing team. For example, if the final score is 31-27 and the winning team scored 28 points in the 1st quarter, then the correct answer is "1st quarter".
- Tie-breaking questions. Net Yards Rushing represents the total number of yards gained on rushing plays minus the total number of yards lost on rushing plays. The lowest number you can select is 0 and the highest number you can select is 300. Selecting 0 encompasses 0 and anything less; selecting 300 encompasses 300 and anything more. If the actual Net Yards Rushing for the applicable team is less than 0 or more than 300, 0 and 300 would be considered to be the correct numbers respectively.
6. PRIZES. A maximum of one (1) US $1,000,000 Cash Prize is available to be won. The $1,000,000 Cash Prize is payable in 40 equal annual installments of $25,000 each without interest.
In the event of multiple verified winners of the $1,000,000 Cash Prize, the US $1,000,000 Cash Prize will be divided equally among such winners. If no Contestant achieves the maximum number of points possible, then no $1,000,000 Cash Prize will be awarded.
