New York Giants favored to repeat

» Nov 26, 2008

The New York Giants are big favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions at Sportsbetting.com.

The Giants, sitting atop the NFC East division with a 10-1 SU record heading into Week 13, are 8-5 favorites to win the NFL championship on Feb. 1, 2009 in Tampa.

And recent talk of an all-New York City Super Bowl could become reality, as the New York Jets are the next favored (or favred) team at 6-1 odds at Sportsbetting.com.

Led by Brett Favre, the Jets are 8-3, lead the AFC East division, and have won five straight, including handing the Tennessee Titans their first loss of the season last Sunday.

Speaking of the Titans, they’re right behind the Jets at 7-1 to become Super Bowl champs. The 10-1 SU Titans are in first place in the AFC South division.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, who have had an inconsistent season as evidenced by their 3-2 SU record over the past five, are next at 9-1 odds at Sportsbetting.com. Pittsburgh is 8-3 SU on the season and leads the AFC North.

And the Dallas Cowboys, who were favored to win it all heading into the season, are now at 10-1 odds. That’s actually an improvement as Dallas struggled when quarterback Tony Romo missed three games with a finger injury. Since Romo returned, Dallas is 2-0 SU.

The New England Patriots, who went undefeated during the regular season and playoffs last season before losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl, are at 20-1 odds this season.

Some Super Bowl longshots include the Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers, all at 5000-1.
